Summary

The Gulf Monitoring Consortium (GMC) is a rapid response alliance that collects, analyzes and publishes images and other information acquired from space, from the air, and from the surface in order to investigate and expose pollution incidents that occur in the Gulf of Mexico and Gulf Coast region. Member organization SkyTruth maintains GMC’s website. This document outlines the information we collect, how it is used, and how you can control that use.

Information GMC Collects About You

Member Organizations

If your organization is part of the GMC alliance, we collect some personally-identifiable information about you, such as your name, organization name, and email address, in order to be able to communicate with you about GMC- and Gulf-related issues. We may provide your contact information to other members within GMC in order to accomplish the organization’s mission, but we will never sell, rent or give away this information.

Website Visitors

This website currently does not collect any information about visitors to the website. We may in future elect to add website statistics to the website, in order to be able to track website traffic in the aggregate. If that happens, we will update this policy accordingly. This website uses Google Analytics to to monitor aggregate usage and web traffic routing on this and to improve user experience.

Submitting iWitness Reports 

If you submit a report to Louisiana Bucket Brigade on the iWitness map, you can choose whether to share your name and email address or make the report anonymously.

Cookies

The GMC website does not place cookies on your computer. If we add analytics to monitor website traffic patterns in the aggregate in the future, we will update this policy accordingly. This website uses Google Analytics, which places a text file called a cookie in the browser files of your computer. We make a good faith effort to provide member organizations access to personal information to correct data that may be inaccurate or delete data at your request.
